Cookie & Browser Storage Policy
Last updated: 2026-08-31
Scope
This policy covers cookies as well as localStorage, sessionStorage and similar browser-storage technologies. They are used for functionality, security, preferences and—only if permitted—analytics.
Necessary and functional storage
The current product may use the following first-party records:
- `osm-cookie-consent-v1`: remembers your analytics accept/reject choice, which can be changed from the footer.
- The `osm-did` cookie and `osm-device-id`: a random device identifier used to associate Premium codes with a device, prevent abuse and preserve access.
- Firebase Authentication browser records: managed by Firebase to maintain a secure sign-in session.
- `osm-lang`, theme, favourites and PWA notice: remember language, appearance and interface preferences you choose.
- Premium state/code records: preserve current Premium access on the device. A Premium code should be treated as sensitive and not shared.
- Match-report, vote, prediction and tool records: limit duplicate submissions or preserve selected inputs on the device.
- `osm-presence-session`: a random session-level identifier for concurrent visitor counts.
- Short-lived YouTube content cache: avoids requesting the same public video data unnecessarily.
Google Analytics
Google Analytics is not necessary. Analytics storage is off by default on a first visit; until a valid affirmative choice is given, the Google Analytics tag is not loaded, measurement events are not sent, and `_ga` / `_ga_*` analytics cookies are not created.
If accepted, Google Analytics may use first-party analytics cookies to measure site and feature usage. Specific retention and advertising features associated with Google Analytics depend on the property configuration. OSM Next Level intends to use only enabled features that are compatible with required user choices and permissions. GA4 Data Retention, Google Signals and Ads Personalization/Advertising Features must be verified before publication.
Changing your choice
The first banner offers Accept Analytics and Reject choices. You can later change the decision through Cookie Preferences in the footer. Rejecting or withdrawing stops new analytics measurement and the site attempts to remove accessible GA cookies. Data already processed by a provider may remain subject to that provider’s and applicable law’s rules.
You can also clear or block storage through browser settings, but doing so may affect account, Premium and preference functions.
