The source

Every formation and slider recommendation on this site comes from a single, hand-maintained matrix. The matrix is built from notes on setups actually played in real matches: opponent formation, home or away, power balance, and the values used.

The Counter Engine, the formation-page tables and the comparison pages all read that same matrix. So if you see a different number for the same matchup in two places on this site, that is a bug — please report it.

What we do not claim

The tactics, guides and counter-tactic recommendations on OSM Next Level are informational suggestions based on real OSM experience, battles, tournaments, match testing and observations from available data. No tactic or recommendation guarantees a particular match result, victory, win rate, ranking or other performance outcome. Online Soccer Manager results can be affected by squad strength, players, the opponent’s tactics, home or away status, the referee, game mechanics and other variables. Users should assess the information alongside their own in-game conditions and make their own final tactical decisions.

The “confidence” figure you see on the site is not a win rate. It is a personal judgement of how solid the recommendation is for that opponent/location/strength combination — it does not come from a controlled experiment.

No measured win rate and no “unbeatable” claim is published for any tactic here. A page carrying one fails an automated check before it can ship.

The game’s hidden values

Nobody outside the game can verify exactly how many points a bonus such as nationality chemistry or stadium rating is worth in the engine. That is why this site states no exact figure for them, only that an effect is observable.

Home, away and squad strength

There is no single right answer against a given opponent formation. The matrix holds home/away and weaker/equal/stronger squad combinations as separate rows for every opponent, and the table on a formation page is all of those rows. Looking for one “best tactic” and reading a single row means ignoring the rest of the matrix.

Update cadence

When a game update shifts the meta, the values are revised. Between hand edits they stay static — there is no rotation or drift running behind the scenes.
